CLEANING

After each wear, allow your shoes to rest and breathe.

Use a soft horsehair brush to remove surface dust. For deeper cleaning, a slightly damp cloth may be used—never soak the leather. Avoid harsh chemicals or household cleaners, as they strip natural oils and compromise the finish.

 

POLISHING

Polishing is not about shine—it is about nourishment.

Apply a small amount of high-quality cream polish matching the leather tone. Work it gently into the surface using a soft cloth, then brush lightly to restore depth and luster.

Occasional use of wax polish can enhance shine, but restraint is key. Over-polishing suffocates the leather.

Discipline creates elegance. Excess destroys it.

 

STORAGE

Store your shoes as you would store anything of value—properly.

* Use cedar shoe trees to maintain structure and absorb moisture
* Keep them in a cool, dry environment
* Avoid plastic coverings; leather must breathe
* Use dust bags when not in use for extended periods

Never store leather in humidity. Moisture is slow damage.

 

ROTATION

Leather needs recovery.

Avoid wearing the same pair on consecutive days. Allow at least 24 hours of rest between wears to let moisture evaporate and structure reset.

Owning fewer pairs and overusing them is a beginner’s mistake. Rotation is how you extend lifespan quietly.

 

WATER & WEATHER

Leather and water are not allies.

If your shoes get wet:

* Let them dry naturally at room temperature
* Insert shoe trees to retain shape
* Never use direct heat (no hairdryers, no sunlight exposure)

Heat cracks leather faster than time ever will.

 

MISTAKES TO AVOID

Most damage doesn’t come from wear—it comes from ignorance.

* Using cheap polish or incorrect color
* Drying near heaters or under direct sun
* Skipping shoe trees
* Wearing the same pair daily
* Ignoring early creases and dryness

Neglect is visible. Care is silent—but unmistakable.
